There comes a day when silence becomes more than any word

Thich Nhat Hanh

Once upon a time, words came out like an explosion, to defend every point of view, to fill every void. Things were said not to be forgotten, not to be neglected, even when they had no weight. A smile covered the quarrels, and the voice was raised to hold the position.

Then comes a new silence. Words only gain meaning when you let them out on purpose, when you know they are waiting. Silence becomes a space where the thoughts of others can breathe, where there is no need to dominate every moment. A look says more than a long discussion, and the ease comes from not having to explain everything.

This silence touches deeply, because it reveals that not every battle is worth fighting. True connections are born when you allow space between words, when you are not afraid of the void. However, you are saddened by how few understand that silence is not surrender, but a choice.

When will the next time you choose silence be?
